Ghada Waly, Minister of Social Solidarity and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the General Organization for Social Solidarity, announced that the Foundation has provided 4 million pounds of cash assistance to needy families from social solidarity clients in support of the families during the holy month of Ramadan.
This aid was provided to 36,000 families of the most senior families from the social solidarity clients of the Foundation and its branches in order to relieve social burdens of citizens during the holy month.
"This effort comes for the fifth year in a row in the framework of the role played by the institution in caring for the neediest families," said Abdel Hakim Hamouda, deputy chairman of the Board of Trustees of the General Organization for Social Solidarity, adding that the aid was provided in cash to enable families to meet their needs.
Hamouda added that the General Establishment for Social Solidarity aims at achieving solidarity, providing various types of assistance and performing surgical operations for disadvantaged patients, in addition to improving the standard of living of families. The number of branches of the institution have reached 27 nationwide.
