US media said, quoting the governor of New York, that the number of victims of the snowstorm that hit the state had risen to 12, describing the snowstorm that hit the western state as a "threat to life" and "one of the worst in history."
Earlier, the US newspaper "The Hill" reported that more than 1,400 flights were canceled in various parts of the United States from Saturday evening until Sunday morning, due to the winter storm that struck several parts of the country.
The newspaper indicated - in a report on its website - that a total of 1440 domestic and foreign flights in the United States were canceled, in addition to the postponement of 2003 other flights due to the winter storm.
The newspaper added that nearly 60% of the US population were warned of the winter storm, while at least 23 people were killed due to the atmosphere.
