President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Thursday the importance of the upcoming Libyan elections in respecting and activating the free will of the Libyan people.

Sisi held talks with Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh, Prime Minister of the Libyan National Unity Government, in the presence of Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Abbas Kamel, Chief of General Intelligence, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
Rady said that Sisi welcomed Dbeibeh on his visit to Egypt to participate in the meetings of the Egyptian-Libyan Joint Higher Committee, stressing the highest priority that Egypt attaches to restoring stability to Libya and enabling it to restore its regional and international role.
"The President stressed Egypt's firm stance towards respecting Libyan sovereignty, preserving its territorial integrity, and rejecting all forms of foreign interference in Libyan internal affairs," Rady added.
Sisi also affirmed the significance of strengthening the cohesion of Libyan national institutions and unifying the Libyan National Army to protect the capabilities of the brotherly Libyan people and activate their free will.
Moreover, Sisi praised the efforts of the Dbeibeh's government at the internal level to improve the living conditions of the Libyan citizen, expressing his confidence in the ability of the Libyan people to overcome all the immediate challenges they face in order to rebuild a strong modern state and to lay the foundations of security and stability in all parts of Libya.
On his part, Dbeibeh affirmed his country’s great appreciation and pride at the official and popular levels for the very important Egyptian role, under the wise leadership of Sisi in stabilizing peace and stability in Libya.
Sisi and Dbeibeh also tackled the latest developments in the Libyan arena.
"The President lauded the recent issuance of the elections law by the Libyan House of Representatives, as an important step in implementing the roadmap requirements approved by the Libyans," noted the Egyptian Presidency spokesman.
In this regard, Sisi assured Egypt’s readiness to provide all necessary capabilities in order to help the Libyan brothers prepare the required climate for the implementation of this very important electoral event.
