Sisi Stresses Priority of Students Safety amid Pandemic

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Wednesday several officials to discuss ways to fight Covid-19 and how deal with it during the new school year, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

El Sisi convened with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs, Major General Doctor Bahaa El-Din Zidan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Single Purchase Authority, Major General Doctor Mostafa Abu Hatab, director of the International Medical Center, and Major General Doctor Magdy Amin, director of the Armed Forces Medical Services Department.

Rady added that the meeting dealt with follow-up efforts to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, and preparations to face any possible second wave, in addition to the precautionary measures taken to receive the new school year.

President Sisi urged concerned officials to take all necessary measures, in coordination between the Ministry of Health and the various bodies, to provide the highest possible levels of safety for students and those in charge of the educational system, to guarantee their safety and the regularity of the academic process.

Sisi t also exhoted them to intensify awareness campaigns at the citizen level regarding dealing with the spread of the COVID-19, especially with regard to the precautionary measures to be followed in this regard, in addition to the general plan for coexistence at the state level.

"President Sisi requested them to ensure the provision of all necessary medical needs and supplies to help all workers in the health sector and help them perform their mission to the fullest extent.

Sisi Stresses Priority of Students Safety Amid Pandemic On her part, Zayed reviewed the state’s efforts in the context of combating the repercussions of the pandemic since its global outbreak and the discovery of the first case in Egypt until now, and the current position on the rates of infection and recovery from the coronavirus at the level of the Republic.

The Presidency Spokesman stated that the meeting also touched on reviewing the results of implementing various presidential initiatives over the past two years as part of the state’s efforts to improve public health, under the umbrella of “100 million health”, especially with regard to treating virus C and other chronic diseases.

In this context; the president directed the state’s efforts to continue within the framework of presidential initiatives in the field of health and its development, as they have a direct impact on the health and safety of citizens.
