In a humanitarian gesture and a quick response, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ordered to treat Marwa, the 31-year-old woman who is suffering from obesity as her weight exceeds 200 kilograms.
Marwa, who lives in El Salam city in Cairo, is suffering from bedsores and an enlargement of foot known as "elephantiasis". She also suffers from glands disorders, which caused a critical condition of obesity.
Marwa's mother had appealed to Sisi, via “Youm7” news website, to treat her daughter at the state's expense since the family is unable to treat her.
Upon the directives of President Sisi, a specialized medical team immediately transferred Marwa by an equipped ambulance to a hospital to follow up on her health condition, take the necessary medical procedures and treat her at the expense of the state.
