President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has directed the referral of the late athlete Ahmed Refaat's case to the Attorney General, demanding accountability for anyone involved in the crisis and uncovering any violations to ensure justice is served.
In a statement on the program "On My Responsibility" broadcasted on Sada El Balad channel, media personality Ahmed Moussa reported that President Sisi has instructed coordination among relevant authorities to streamline travel procedures for athletes during their military service period, ensuring equality among them.
"The president is keen on ensuring equality regarding the travel of athletes during military service," Moussa said, adding that President Sisi has mandated equal travel procedures for all athletes during this period.
The Attorney General, Counselor Mohamed Shawky, will form a committee to investigate the case of the deceased player, Ahmed Refaat, to take legal action and uncover any irregularities, ensuring that those found in violation of the law will be held accountable.
Moussa emphasized President Sisi's consistent focus on public interest issues, hence his order for these urgent measures and the case's referral to the public prosecution. "This decision by President Sisi reinforces the principle of justice, not only in the case of the late player Ahmed Refaat but in any case," he added.
Moussa also noted that President Sisi closely monitors all matters that stir public opinion, managing these issues with transparency and clarity.
