On Thursday, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi marked Human fraternity international day.

"Today, the world celebrates an important human value that perhaps we need more than ever before; the value of human fraternity," Sisi posted on "Facebook" and "Twitter".

"This important occasion reminds us all of the importance of dialogue to understand and accept the other; it also reminds us of the need to strengthen cooperation to reject fanaticism and confront hate speech, as well as spreading the values of tolerance, justice, and equality, in order to achieve peace and stability," the president added.

Moreover, Sisi described Egypt as 'the cradle of human civilization', saying "On its land, God spoke to Moses; Jesus Christ and his mother "the Virgin Mary" moved to it, and Islam entered it since its dawn."

"We always strive to consolidate the foundations of brotherhood among the members of society as a single national fabric, enjoying all their rights without discrimination," he stressed. "We confront the calls of hatred and incitement to violence."

"In this context, religious institutions, and leaders in Egypt are doing their best to enhance dialogue between followers of the different religions and raise awareness of common human values," the president added.

"On this day, I urge all to spread the culture of peace and uphold the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence and reject all manifestations of violence and extremism that have killed many innocent people and robbed them of their right to life," Sisi continued.

In February 2019, the UAE hosted the Global Conference of Human Fraternity, which coincided with the historic visit of El-Tayeb and Pope Francis to the UAE to promote international dialogue on coexistence and fraternity, where they addressed intellectual extremism, and established new rules for interfaith relations based on respecting differences.

It produced the Human Fraternity Document aimed at promoting global peace and coexistence, which was signed by the Grand Imam and Pope of the Vatican. The document called for the launch of several initiatives that will consolidate the values of interfaith tolerance and coexistence.
