The Egyptian Presidency Spokesperson, Bassam Rady, said that the inspection tour included a number of the main axes in the east of the capital, including the Salah Salem corridor extending to the military academy, the Cairo Airport sorrounding area and Suez Bridge.

“The president was briefed on the details of the executive and construction steps in those sites by the engineering supervisors,” Rady added.

In this regard, Sisi called for creating the largest possible expansion of traffic lanes for roads to achieve smooth movement and also to accommodate the expected future increase in the population.

The president directed the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces to immediately start the construction of the “Ahalina III” residential community, an extension of the chain of “Ahalina” residential compounds that were established in order to provide decent housing units with modern facilities and services for citizens of slum areas who are suffering difficult living conditions.
