President Abdel Fattah El Sisi greeted, Saturday, all Muslims on Laylat Al Qadr, saying that "We inspire meanings of goodness, blessing, and mercy from this Night."
"Today we celebrate the Blessed Laylat Al Qadr from which we draw inspiration from all the meanings of goodness, blessing and mercy, and uphold human ideals and values," Sisi posted on his social media platforms.
He added that "May God Almighty, on this sacred occasion, preserve our dear homeland Egypt and bless us and the rest of the Islamic nation with goodness, peace, and security."
Many Muslims believe that the eve of Ramadan 27 is what is known as Laylat Al Qadr (night of power). Though they are encouraged to look for the holy night in the odd nights of the month's last 10 days, many cite evidence that it falls on Ramadan 27 eve. Laylat Al Qadr is when the first five verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
