Sisi Grants Presidential Pardon for Several Prisoners on New Hijri Year

President Abdel Fattah Sisi issued a presidential pardon for seven prisoners on the occasion of New Hijri Year. The decision was announced on Friday.

The names of the prisoners that were granted the pardon are as following:

Hesham Fouad Mohamed Abdel Halim

Qasem Ashraf Qasem Ahmed

Ahmed Samir Abdel Hai Ali

Tarek El Nahry Hazim Hassan

Abdel Raouf Khatab Hassan Hattab

Tarek Mohamed Al Mahdi Sedik

Khaled Abdel Meniom Sadek Sabir

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated, on Thursday the Egyptian community abroad on the New Hijri Year 1444.

In a congratulatory cable, Sisi wished Egypt more prosperity and progress.

On this day, Muslims celebrate 1444 years since Islam’s Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him- migrated from Mecca to Medina, to save Muslims from torture by leaders of Quraish, an Arab tribe Muhammad was part of, and to protect the proselytism of Islam from being eradicated by disbelievers at that time.
