Sisi: Egyptian women are 'conscience of this nation'

On International Women’s Day, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi paid his respect to the Egyptian women, calling her “the conscience of this nation”. 

“I pay respect to the Egyptian women, who carry the conscience of this nation upon her shoulders,” he tweeted on Monday. 

He added that women are the "source of inexhaustible benevolence and goodness, and the power of safety and sacrifice that is renewed over time, as it is the first source of wisdom and principles, and the basic foundation for building the family and its cohesion."

International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year. It commemorates the movement for women's rights.
