President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a phone call on Wednesday evening with King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
"The president was reassured about the health condition of his brother, the King of Jordan, after the success of the surgery he had recently performed," Rady said.
During the call, Sisi congratulated King Abdullah II on the successful surgery and wished him continued good health and wellbeing.
The Jordanian monarch received surgery at a specialist hospital in Frankfurt, Germany, after suffering a "herniated disc," the palace said. The king's pain increased in recent weeks, requiring "urgent" surgery.
Abdullah II is suffering from a "thoracic herniated disc," according to a statement from Jordan's Royal Hashemite Court.
