Sisi: Climate Change Represents Real Threat to Int'l Community

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi praised the Egyptian-Serbian relations, expressing pride in the historical relations that extend between the two countries to this day.

In his speech after being awarded an honorary doctorate from Belgrade University, President Sisi said that climate change represents a real threat to the international community, underlining the need to deal seriously with the phenomenon of water scarcity, desertification, and drought.

Moreover, Sisi affirmed that Egypt believes in the unity of purpose and destiny among the Nile Basin countries, as it sought to reach a common vision with Sudan and Ethiopia regarding Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

It is worth mentioning that, Belgrade University, one of the most important educational institutions in Serbia, has awarded an honorary doctorate to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

This came, in recognition of his development efforts inside Egypt, as well as for spreading the thought and culture of peace, cooperation, and construction regionally and internationally.

Rady added that the President of Belgarde university, the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, as well as members of the University Council, expressed their pride in President Sisi's visit.
