The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) reported updates regarding the sandstorm that Egypt faced on Tuesday. The latest satellite footage shows that the sandstorm is currently active in Matruh, Salom, Alamin, and Alexandria.
EMA added that the outbreak of the storm in the rest of the Egyptian cities is expected to take place during the upcoming hours as it is moving towards more cities.
Therefore, the authorities urged residents to close all windows well; in addition, they asked all people who have allergies, asthma, or sinusitis to stay at home due to the emergence of dust and sand in the air.
Also, EMA urged all drivers and residents who drive their own cars to be more careful on the highways due to the difficulty of seeing on the horizontal level due to the storm.
Earlier on Tuesday, the authorities revealed that a significant sandstorm was expected to hit Egypt, and it would prevail in the northern parts of Egypt and the northern regions of Upper Egypt at 50:65 km/h speed.
