Inter Milan secured a valuable 1–0 victory over Lecce on Wednesday night at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, in the rescheduled Matchday 16 fixture of the Italian Serie A, strengthening their grip on the top of the table.
The decisive goal came in the 78th minute, when Pio Esposito found the net to hand Inter three crucial points in a tightly contested encounter.
Despite Lecce’s disciplined defensive display, Inter maintained pressure throughout the match and were eventually rewarded with the breakthrough that sealed the win.
With this result, Inter Milan extended their lead at the top of the Serie A standings, raising their tally to 47 points, six points clear of AC Milan in second place.
Lecce, meanwhile, remain in 17th position with 17 points, continuing their struggle to avoid relegation.
Inter’s Impressive Run
Inter continued their strong form this season under head coach Cristian Chivu, remaining unbeaten in their last eight league matches, recording seven wins and one draw.
The Nerazzurri have firmly established themselves as serious contenders for the Scudetto.
