Serbia Places Military Units along Kosovo Border

Serbia’s Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said units of the Serbian army were deployed near the Kosovo border, against the backdrop of tension between the two sides, following clashes that erupted between the Kosovo police and the Serb minority.

"Units of the Serbian army are being deployed on the administrative line (the border line between Serbia and Kosovo), and we expect them to take their positions in the coming hours," the Serbian newspaper "Vecernje Novosti" quoted Vucevic on Saturday.

On Friday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic instructed the army to take maximum combat readiness due to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija resulting from Pristina's unilateral steps.

Vucevic confirmed that the army had reached the highest levels of combat readiness and headed toward the territory of Kosovo.
