The Teranga Lions defeated Ecuador 2-1 in an impressive game in the final round of the group stage of the FIFA World Cup tournament. They became the first African team to make it to the following stage in this edition of the World Cup, and the first to be qualified for the knockout stage since 2014.
Ismaila Sarr and Kalidou Koulibaly scored Senegal's goals, while Moises Caicedo scored for Ecuador.
Ecuador and Qatar are now officially eliminated from the World Cup tournament.
