Counselor Abdel-Wahhab Abdel-Razek, Speaker of the Egyptian Senate, congratulated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptians on the tenth anniversary of the June 30 Revolution.
Abdel-Razek stressed that it will remain a milestone in the history of the homeland, during which the Egyptians showed their awareness of what is being planned for them.
On June 30, 2013, millions of protesters rushed to the streets to protest against the Muslim Brotherhood-led government and then-President Mohamed Morsi.
The revolution led to the ousting of Morsi and put an end to the one-year Muslim Brotherhood ruling in what has been seen as a victory for the people’s will.
It came only two years after the 25 January Revolution in 2011, which forced late former President Hosni Mubarak to leave office after 30 years as president and paved the way for the country’s first democratic presidential elections.
