A few hours later, lights will be shed on Borg Al-Arab Stadium, where the Egyptian Super Cup Derby between Al Ahly and Zamalek will be held.

The Super Cup is held between the Egyptian League and Egypt Cup winners. This edition of the Super Cup is for the 2017-18 season as the Red Devils claimed the Egyptian Premier League title, while the Whites scooped the Egypt Cup trophy.

The Red Devils have the upper hand over the White Knights during their clashes in this tournament as both teams faced each other five times before. Al Ahly won four confrontations, while Zamalek won only one game during their clashes in the tournament.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) permitted 10,000 fans to attend the Egyptian Super Cup between Al Ahly and Zamalek at Borg Al- Arab stadium.

The History of the Egyptian Super Cup Derby is as follows:  

2003-2004

The first encounter between them was in 2003-2004 season at Cairo Military Academy Stadium, where the Red Devils defeated the Whites 3-1 in a dramatic penalty shootout.

2008

Four years later, both teams played their second encounter in the Super Cup at Cairo Stadium.

The Red Devils entered this clash as the Premier League winners, while the Whites played that game as the Egyptian Cup champions. Al Ahly managed to defeat Zamalek with unanswered two goals, scooping the title.

2014

The Red Devils played the White Knights in 2014 at Cairo Stadium, where Al Ahly lifted the title after overcoming Zamalek 5-4 in a dramatic penalty shootout.

2015

Al Ahly, who entered the Super in that year as the Egyptian Cup winners, scooped their second consecutive Super Cup trophy over Zamalek, who played as the Egyptian Premier League champions. They defeated the Whites 3-2 after a thrilling game.

2016

One year later, the White Knights achieved their first trophy over the Red Devils and their third demotic Super Cup title in history after defeating Al Ahly 3-1 in a penalty shootout.
