German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that in order to end Russia's war in Ukraine, world leaders must be able to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The chancellor expressed his conviction that Russia "must recognize that this cannot continue," adding that Russia must "stop the war, withdraw its forces, and thus create an opportunity for mutual understanding."
