German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that the conflict in Ukraine could last for a long time.
"We must prepare for this to last for a long time," Schulz told reporters on Monday. "Even after the war is over, not everything will return to normal immediately. But we must not stop efforts."
On Sunday, Scholz said that any negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine will begin only after Russian President Vladimir Putin understands that he will not win.
“From my point of view, it is necessary for Putin to understand that he will not succeed in this invasion and his imperial aggression," Scholz said, noting that Putin must withdraw Russian forces from Ukraine."
Moreover, German chancellor added that he "believes that Ukraine is ready for peace."
