On Thursday, the first phase of the Coronavirus vaccination campaign began in Saudi Arabia, at an equipped center in the capital, Riyadh, according to Russia Today (RT).

Minister of Health Tawfiq Al-Rabiah launched the campaign by receiving the first dose of the vaccine.

The health ministry has previously announced that the vaccine would be free and assured the public of its safety as the jab passed all testing stages.

Moreover, it pointed out the vaccination will be conducted over three stages:

1-The first stage targets the citizens and residents who are over 65 years, those who are most vulnerable to infection.

2-The second stage targets people who are over 50 years, and those who are suffering from chronic diseases, as well as those with obesity with BMI between 30 – 40.

3-The third stage targets all citizens and residents who are wanting to take the vaccine.

This comes within Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health efforts to curb the spread of the pandemic.
