Liverpool star Mohamed Salah would not attend the Ballon d’Or ceremony, scheduled to be held later on Monday at "Théâtre du Châtelet" in Paris, France.

Several media reports said that the iconic Egyptian star would not be in the ceremony, which will be held to announce the winner this accolade prize.

Earlier, a list of Ballon D’Or rankings, which has been leaked on social media revealed that Messi would be awarded the prize, followed by Liverpool Defender Virgil van Dijk (2nd), Mo Salah (3rd), and the five-time Ballon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo (4th).

‘In the image shared on Twitter, Messi tops the voting with 446 points to van Dijk’s 382 in second,” Mirror reported.

If this leaked news proved to be true on Monday, Salah would come ahead of Ronaldo, smashing a new record in his glorious career.

“The voting for the award has already been cast, but it is unclear whether the list is official or not,” the British newspaper concluded.

Last year, Barcelona midfielder Luka Modric  won the 2018 prestigious award, ending seven years of dominance by Ronaldo and Messi.
