Citizens in Egypt started to move to the voting stations nationwide to participate in the first day of the 2023 presidential elections.
Sada El Balad channel aired several shots for citizens in various governorates like Monoufia, Cairo, and Sharkia who started to stand in line for the polling stations.
The voting process in the Egyptian presidential elections will begin at 9 am in the various governorates, in front of 9,376 electoral centers, with a total of 11,631 sub-polling committees, distributed among schools, youth centers, and health units.
About 65 million citizens have the right to vote, and the voting process continues over three days from 9 am until 9 pm.
The presidential elections are held under full judicial supervision, handled by 15,000 judges from various judicial authorities and bodies, in addition to the participation of 14 international organizations in the work of following up on the presidential elections, with a total of 220 observers, along with 62 local civil society organizations, with a total of 22,340 observers.
The presidential elections witnessed the competition of 4 candidates: (presidential candidate Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Farid Zahran, head of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, Abdel-Sanad Yamama, head of the Wafd Party, and Hazem Omar, head of the Republican People’s Party.
