Two workers were killed in an explosion at an industrial waste treatment facility in Ansan Gyeonggi province, South Korea, Yonhap News Agency reported.
According to the RT website, officials said that the explosion occurred in an industrial waste treatment facility in Ansan, about 40 km south of Seoul, which killed 2 people.
The news agency indicated that the explosion occurred at 10:24 in the morning at the facility, while the workers were welding a tank. The two victims were in their fifties and were killed by shrapnel from the explosion.
The police and the fire brigade confirmed that the fire resulting from the explosion had been completely extinguished, and they are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
