The Russian National Institute "Kurchatov" has received the patent for a device that may be used to take samples of lunar rocks and frozen pieces of ice while studying the moon and other planets in the solar system, according to an RT report.
This was stated in the patent certificate granted by the Russian Industrial Property Authority "Kurchatov Institute".
The authority indicated that the device belongs to the family of devices that are used to take soil and frozen pieces of ice, but the most effective use of the device is, according to the testimony, extracting water from lunar rocks to be used later to supply nuclear missile engines and manned lunar stations.
