Director of the Fourth European Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Yuri Pilibson, confirmed that Moscow will continue to support Serbia in defending its legitimate rights, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"It is necessary that every decision on Kosovo be acceptable to the Serbs and approved by the UN Security Council," Pilibson said in his remarks, Russia Today reported.
He added, "We will continue to support Belgrade in defending its legitimate rights, sovereignty and territorial integrity... We have no reasons to doubt the stability of Serbia's leadership when it comes to protecting national interests."
The Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has put his army on high alert due to the development of events in Kosovo.
