The Russian ambassador to Afghanistan, Dmitry Zhirnov, revealed his impressions of the first hours after the "Taliban" movement took over of the Afghan capital, Kabul, pointing out that a state of calm prevails in the city.

Zhirnov added that life has returned to its normal course in the city. Schools have started to operate, even girls' schools, pointing out that the West tried to intimidate the world that Taliban supporters will eat women. They did not eat women, but opened schools for girls."

Zhirnov indicated that he plans to take a tour around the city accompanied by elements of the "Taliban" to see everything by his own eyes, adding that the "Taliban" suggested choosing any route the embassy wanted for that tour.

According to the Russian ambassador, the city has become unusually quiet and there are no explosions, no shooting, or anything like that so the situation has become calm.

In other statements, the Russian diplomat considered that the "Taliban" fighters who took control of Kabul on Sunday, entered it as "friends" and not as occupiers, saying that the members of their first groups, upon entering Kabul, knelt and kissed the city's land.

He said that the invaders do not do this, they are looting and robbery, But none of that happened. I hope it continues like this later."

The head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Kabul pointed out that recent days in Afghanistan and Kabul itself have witnessed rapid and dangerous transformations, after the Taliban took control of almost all major cities in the country, including Kabul.

He affirmed that eyewitnesses say that unarmed Taliban members approached Afghan police formations and offered to hand over their weapons, which actually happened. After that, they went down themselves to the ministries of defense and interior and Afghan intelligence.

The diplomat explained that the most important thing is that the Taliban, as they themselves promise, are determined to make a peaceful transition of power, and they guarantee the security and safety of foreign diplomatic missions, including the Russian embassy.
