Turkish authorities said a Russian cargo ship was transporting more than 180 tons of humanitarian aid to Turkiye for the victims of the devastating earthquakes that took place last February.
The Anadolu Agency reported that the authorities said the Evrim Group container ship loaded with 184 tons of humanitarian aid from Russia docked in the port of Unyi on the Black Sea coast of Turkey.
The ship, which arrived from the Russian city of Sochi, delivered foodstuffs to the victims of the February earthquake through Centers in the earthquake zone in Kahramanmaraş, according to the agency.
The report stated that the aid was sent under the supervision of the Turkish Emergency Management Agency to the disaster area.
On February 6, two violent earthquakes struck Kahramanmaraş, with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale, and its epicentre was west of the city of Gaziantep, and its impact extended to Syria as well.
The number of victims of these two earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria amounted to over 51,000 dead and 120,000 wounded, leaving huge material damage in both countries.
