Russia Imposes Sanctions on 31 Western Energy Companies

Moscow imposed sanctions against 31 Western energy companies, most of which belong to the “Gazprom Germania” group of subsidiaries of Russian energy firm “Gazprom”.

The list of sanctions includes the “Gazprom Germania” group of subsidiaries of Russia's energy firm Gazprom, their headquarters are in Germany, the US, the UK, Bulgaria, Romania, and Poland.

The sanctions affect dealers and operators of underground gas storage facilities.

Moscow also imposed sanctions against Europol Gaz S.A., the owner of the Polish part of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline.

According to the sanctions, Russian companies are prohibited from dealing with companies subject to these sanctions, and from making payments and financial transactions with them.

The entry of Russian ports will also be banned from tankers affiliated with these companies and inpiduals subject to sanctions.
