On Wednesday, Russia and the Arab countries called on Israel to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

This came in a joint statement following the sixth session of the Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum, which was held in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.

The Arab and Russian ministers participating in the meeting called on Israel and other countries not party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons to join as soon as possible as non-nuclear-weapon states.

The ministers affirmed their support for all efforts aimed at achieving the ultimate goal of a world free of all weapons of mass destruction.

Earlier, media reported that the Israeli military base, which is allegedly a warehouse for missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons, was subjected to a missile attack, last October 7.

Israel has not officially confirmed the existence of nuclear weapons, but there has been a nuclear research center in the north of the country for more than half a century, she said.
