On Saturday, Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. responded to the praise he received from the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo during the gala of 2024 Globe Soccer.
Vinicius Jr. won the Globe Soccer Awards’ Best Men’s Player of the Year as well as the Best Forward of the Year.
During the ceremony which took place in Dubai, legendary Cristiano Ronaldo gave the Real Madrid forward a public shout-out, as the Portuguese icon claimed that the 24-year-old deserved to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Ronaldo also described the Ballon d’Or awards as unfair, saying: "Vinicius should have won the Ballon d’Or, in my opinion it was clear. It was unfair. This is why I love Globe Soccer Awards, they are honest."
Vinicius proudly responded to the statements of the legend of every Real Madrid player and fan.
He said: “If Cristiano said I’m the best, then I am."
The Brazilian also won his second title of the season with Real Madrid earlier this year, adding the FIFA Intercontinental Cup to the UEFA Super Cup triumph from early in the season.
