The Romanian Ministry of Defense has announced the dispatch of its first humanitarian aid plane to flood-ravaged Libya.

The aid operation is in response to the recent devastating floods that have afflicted the region.

A Romanian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft departed for Benghazi, Libya, carrying an initial shipment of humanitarian supplies.

This marks the beginning of Romania's efforts to provide crucial assistance to those affected by the floods.

The Romanian Air Force is planning a series of six flights to transport a total of 55 tons of aid to Libya. The aid includes essential items such as food, tents, and other necessities.

The floods were triggered by Hurricane "Daniel," which struck the country on September 10th, causing extensive damage to infrastructure and displacing numerous residents.

The death toll in eastern Libya due to the floods has exceeded 11,000, with nearly 20,000 people reported missing.
