Legendary former WWE Superstar Ric Flair, the Nature Boy, issued a challenge to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon in a contest in SummerSlam as warming up for Flair's retirement match, Metro reported on Friday.

The Nature Boy, and WWE Chairman didn't step into the ring together since 2008 since their three matches six years earlier.

The WWE Hall of Famer wants one more fight with his former head on the eve of Flair's retirement as he is preparing to have one final fight this year.

Speaking on his To Be A Man podcast, Flair said: ‘I’m gonna text Vince today and say, ‘I think you and I should have one last encounter at SummerSlam… we deserve it… before I retire the next day”.

He added: ‘Vince McMahon against Ric Flair… I’ll take the bumps, Vince just punches me, I’ll take a blade. The crowd will go crazy! I’ll fall on my face. How easy is that?’

The forthcoming WWE SummerSlam is set to take place on July 30, while Flair's retirement match hosted at Jim Crockett Promotions is scheduled on the following night.

Flair was granted his WWE release upon his request in August 2021, shortly, the promotion removed all Flair-related footage in the opening promos for the WWE TV shows such as SmackDown, and Raw after the most controversial the Dark Side of the Ring's episode on the Plane Ride from Hell.

In 2002, Flair, and McMahon competed against each other in a street fight contest at Royal Rumble, in addition, they participated in a tag team action with Triple H, and Kurt Angle in a No Holds Barred single match.

While in 2008, they fought each other in RAW as part of Flair's final in-ring run in WWE.
