Residents of a small village in southern Romania decided to re-elect their mayor, on Sunday, following his death from Coronavirus two weeks ago.
They went to his grave to light candles for him and said that they granted Ion Aliman victory since he deserves it.
Aliman won a third term as mayor of Devesilo, a village in southern Romania with an estimated population of 3,000. He won 64% of votes, election office data showed on Monday.
The total number of Coronavirus cases in Romania reached 123,944 since late February, including 4,748 deaths.
