On Thursday, many reports expressed that "Zizo," the newly imported male giraffe passed away in Giza Zoo.

Moreover, it was expected that "Zizo" would be the long-awaited spouse of the depressed and lonely "Sawsan" giraffe.

The reports added that the young giraffe suffered no diseases.

Also, it had the main meals and regular food in the evening without any hardships.

On the other hand, visitors were prevented from visiting the spot of the giraffes in the Zoo and a specialized committee to identify the reasons for death.

Two months ago, the General Administration of Zoos announced today that Giza Zoo prepares to receive three new giraffes coming from South Africa, according to the international regulations of importing giraffes. Establishing a new house for imported giraffes is one of the main preparations.

They are exchanged with a hippopotamus and a number of rams as part of an exchange program for endangered animals.

Currently, Giza Zoo has only 1 giraffe, Sawsan, which is getting ready for mating with one of the newly giraffes.

The giraffes are the most liked animals in the Giza zoo due to their physical characteristics and their nice reaction towards humans.

Furthermore, the giraffe is considered one of the endangered species. So, its trading follows certain strict regulations internationally to preserve them from extinction.
