Saudi Arabia offered to pay for new stadiums in Greece and Egypt if they agreed to join a bid to host the FIFA World Cup tournament in 2030, in return, the Asian state takes the right of hosting 3/4 of the matches.

The three nations are working together on a proposal to host the competition in 2030 and beat the other two proposals: the European one which is a joint bid from Spain, Portugal and Ukraine, and South America which is a joint bid by Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile bid.

A decision on the hosts of the 2030 tournament will take place in will be voted on by the FIFA congress in 2024.

The report states this would cost billions of dollars as the three countries would need to upgrade their infrastructure which could be provided by the KSA to Greece and Egypt, but the KSA will take the right to host 75% of the games.

It's still unclear whether or not the offer was accepted by Greece and Egypt.
