Press reports revealed that the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has turned down a major financial offer to promote tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to the Spanish Marca the Juventus player was asked to do publicity to promote Saudi Arabia as a holiday destination and was reportedly offered six million Euros per year.
Marca has cited the British The Telegraph, who explained that the Juventus forward passed on this offer.
As part of the deal, Ronaldo would have appeared in adverts and would have been asked to pay visits to the country.
The Telegraph has also reported that Barcelona Lionel Messi's representatives were also approached about a similar opportunity.
Marca stated that this isn't the first time that Saudi Arabia has turned to football for promotion, as the country hosted the 2020 Supercopa de Espana.
