A stretch mark is a type of scar the develops when our skin stretches or shrinks quickly. The sudden change causes the collagen and elastin that support our skin to rupture. As the skin heals, stretch marks appear.
Pregnancy and puberty are the two most common causes of stretch marks. There’s no doubt that for some people stretch marks can be really annoying which usually leads them to expensive treatments like laser therapy and needling.
But why don't we take advantage of the mandatory quarantine and remove them at home?
Here are some natural ways to reduce stretch marks at home
• Aloe vera
Aloe vera is plant that regenerates the skin tissue and has amazing healing properties. Take the fresh gel from the leaf and massage it on the stretch marks, leave it on for 20-30 minutes before washing it off with tepid water.
• Cocoa butter
Cocoa butter helps reduce the stretch marks and if used during and after pregnancy it can remove them completely. The best time to use cocoa butter is at night so, massage it well into the stretch marks and over time the marks will start to fade.
• Cucumber and Lemon juice
The lemon’s acidity helps in healing and reducing scares and the cucumber’s soothing effect leaves your skin fresh. Mix equal parts of lime and cucumber juices and apply the mixture on the affected areas, leave it on for approximately 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
• Coconut and Almond oil
use coconut and bitter almond oils in equal parts to reduce stretch marks. Massage it on the skin regularly and wait for the results.
These natural remedies will no doubt reduce your skin if not remove them completely just make sure to use them regularly and be patient.
