A delegation from the Egyptian Ministry of Environment participated in a three-day workshop on the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) project in Zurich, Switzerland.
The workshop aims to provide participants with theoretical and practical experiences on the concept of extended product responsibility, introduce and raise awareness of the importance of applying the concept of extended product responsibility to electronic and electrical waste, and also form a unified vision on how to apply and implement the extended product liability system, and encourage and motivate participants to face challenges and seek to implement the system successfully.
The workshop program included a number of lectures and interactive discussions. A number of successful experiences in this field were also presented, such as what was applied in (European Union / Switzerland / India).
The workshop program also included a number of field visits to a number of factories working in the field of e-waste recycling and to identify the technology applied in this field, in order to apply these successful experiences in Egypt under the Waste Law No. 202 of 2020
