Authorities have ordered the evacuation of around 1,000 residents from Port-Cartier in Quebec, Canada, due to the imminent threat of a wildfire.
Quebec’s Minister of Public Safety François Bonnardel shared this information on platform X (formerly known as Twitter), according to Bloomberg News.
Port-Cartier's high-security prison has also indicated plans to evacuate staff and transfer inmates safely, as reported by CBC, which cited the Canadian prison administration.
The Port-Cartier prison's website announced the suspension of visits due to the changing emergency caused by the wildfire.
