Qatar Arrests Bahraini Bodybuilder During Fishing Cruise

Today, Qatari authorities arrested Bahraini bodybuilding champion Sami Al-Haddad, during a fishing cruise, according to the Bahraini Al-Ayyam newspaper.

The newspaper stated that this incident is part of the systematic campaign launched by Doha against the Bahraini sailors, and a clear breach of the Gulf reconciliation agreement concluded at the Al-Ula summit held last week in Saudi Arabia.

The Qatari Coast Guard detained, more than once, a number of fishing boats in Bahrain’s territorial waters.

Doha is working to detain boats and fishermen for a long time, while taking arbitrary measures against them, according to Bahrain.

The Arab Quartet countries - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Bahrain - signed the "Al-Ula" statement to end the dispute with Qatar and restore diplomatic relations to the same way they were.
