Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Arsenal 1-0 to be a step closer to the final of the UEFA Champions League.

The 1-0 victory was in the first leg of their semi-final clash on Tuesday evening at the Emirates Stadium in London.

The game's goal came by Ousmane Dembélé in the 4th minute, giving the French giants a crucial advantage.

PSG now need a draw, either goalless or with any scoreline, in the return leg next Wednesday at the Parc des Princes to secure their place in the final.

Arsenal, on the other hand, will need to win by two clear goals to progress to their first-ever Champions League final and continue their dream of lifting the prestigious European trophy for the first time in the club’s history.

With this victory, PSG became the first French team to win away in a Champions League semi-final since Marseille's 3-1 win over Spartak Moscow in 1991.

PSG also set a new record for the most wins in a single Champions League season by a French club, securing 9 victories in the 2024-2025 season, surpassing Bordeaux's 8 wins in the 2009-2010 season.

Dembélé’s early goal also marked the fastest goal ever scored by a PSG player against Arsenal in the Champions League, surpassing Edinson Cavani’s record set in September 2016.
