Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of young midfielder Dro Fernandes from Spanish giants Barcelona during the ongoing winter transfer window.

The French club confirmed that Fernandes has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the Parc des Princes until June 2030.

According to media reports, PSG triggered the player’s release clause valued at six million euros to complete the transfer.

Born in Nigrán, Spain, on January 12, 2008, Pedro Drew Fernandes began his football journey at the age of four with local club ED Val Miñor Nigrán.

He joined Barcelona’s academy in 2022, where he continued his development over three seasons and quickly emerged as one of the club’s most promising young talents.

A versatile midfielder Fernandes is known for his strong technical ability, excellent vision and intelligence in finding space between the lines.

He made his official debut for Barcelona’s first team in September 2025 and has since made five appearances, four in La Liga and one in the UEFA Champions League.

His first assist at senior level came on October 21 2025 during Barcelona’s 6 1 victory over Olympiacos in the Champions League.

On the international stage Fernandes has been a regular member of Spain’s youth national teams.

With the Spain Under-17 side, he played nine matches and scored four goals standing out during the European Under-17 Championship qualifiers in 2025, where he netted the decisive goal in a one nil win over Norway.

He has also represented Spain at the Under 18 level, earning three caps, including his most recent appearance against Romania on October 14, 2025.

Including his appearances for the Spain Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 teams, Fernandes has accumulated a total of 24 official international matches, highlighting his growing reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting young midfield prospects.

Paris Saint-Germain view the signing as a long term investment as the club continues to build for the future with a strong focus on youth development.
