On Saturday, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, on a two-day official visit.
This visit is considered the first of its kind for an Egyptian president since Armenia's independence.
On his part, Official Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said that the president's visit to Armenia comes in light of the 'distinguished' and 'historic' relations between the two countries and the two friendly peoples.
Moreover, he added that relations between both countries are not limited to the official part only and the fact that Egypt is the first Arab country to establish diplomatic relations with Armenia after its independence, but it goes beyond that to include the close popular relations and Egypt’s hosting of a large Armenian community which has played an important role in Egypt's history on various political, economic, cultural and artistic levels.
