Health Affairs Presidential Advisor Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said that 500,000 citizens received COVID-19 booster shots, especially those with weak immunity.
In a press conference, Tag El-Din urged citizens to remain home, follow preventive measures and avoid crowded places.
Earlier, the Presidential Advisor said that the new COVID-19 mutant is not more difficult than other ones, but it is highly contagious.
In televised remarks, Tag el-Din added that Egypt has already received 121.2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine till December 26.
Moreover, the presdential advisor stressed that the COVID-19 vaccine is like the seasonal flu vaccination, works from 6 to 9 months, thus the booster dose is given every 6 months.
