Moments ago, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi delivered a short speech on the sidelines of his visit to the Nativity of Christ Cathedral where the Christmas mass is taking place.
President El-Sisi wished all Egyptian Copts and Christians a merry Christmas and a blessed year. He also wished good health and peace to Pope Tawadross II. He also president flowers to the Pope, asserting his great value and position.
He continued: "I follow everything closely and observe all reactions. Concerns may be justified, and it is important to acknowledge that. I am not only addressing you here but also the entire world, both inside and outside Egypt, through you. I hope this year will be better than past years."
He asserted that God watches everything, hoping the next years would be better for Egypt and Egyptians.
He explained: "Some may forget in difficult circumstances and think that things are out of control. But it is not in our hands as humans; the world is not left without guidance. We all believe in God, but we must always remember this truth. We must be certain that God exists and that nothing can happen in this world except by His will."
The President emphasized: "As a state, we have always handled matters with great honor, integrity, and honesty. Let me tell you this—if your leader is not a good person, you should fear for your country. If his hands were stained with blood, you should fear for your country. If he were corrupt and took people's money, you should fear for your country. But, praise be to God, none of this exists here."
The Christmas mass is attended by senior state officials, ministers, governors, members of the House of Representatives and Senate, ambassadors, diplomats, public figures, and various media representatives.
