An Israeli public opinion poll showed, on Friday, that the majority of Israelis fear a “civil war” scenario and the decline in the representation of the parties that make up the ruling coalition from 64 seats in the Knesset currently to 54 seats.
And on the other hand, the representation of opposition parties increased to 66 seats, compared to 56 now.
The results of the poll showed that 58% of those surveyed feared an Israeli civil war, and 49% expressed their fear that the Israeli army would reach a "state of incompetence and lack of readiness".
Up to 22% of the respondents reported that they are studying emigration abroad, while 4% have taken actual steps to emigrate.
The Netanyahu government seeks to make radical amendments to the legal and judicial systems, to almost eliminate the Supreme Court's authority for judicial review, and to give the government an automatic majority in the judges' selection committee, which a wide segment of Israelis sees as "targeting democracy and undermining the judicial system."
Since the plan was announced early in January, tens of thousands of Israelis have demonstrated weekly to denounce the text and the government that Netanyahu formed in December.
