Prime Minister (PM) Mostafa Madbouly stated that the rumor about a rise in natural gas prices for households was linked to the visit of the IMF Director, but clarified that this is untrue and no increase has taken place.
He noted that the aim of such rumors is to destabilize the country's security and provoke public opinion.
He further highlighted that the World Urban Forum is an opportunity to showcase Egypt's successful urban development experience.
Madbouly added that the world recognizes Egypt’s progress on a sound reform path, pointing out that factors negatively affecting the economy include the Suez Canal and the petroleum sector. He affirmed that the 2024-2025 fiscal year will be a year of recovery.
