Despite the pain of war and the tragedy of war-torn families, Bethlehem dressed in the most marvelous colors, decorations, and lights to celebrate Christmas, on Saturday.

The city received hundreds of visitors and worshipers who came for reviving the principles and manners of good, humanity, peace, tolerance, sacrifice, and unity.

Beginning with the arrival of Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa's procession of the Latin Patriarchate to Nativity Square, the celebrations witnessed the execution of annual rituals, including the midnight mass.

The Patriarch was welcomed by several Christian leaders.

A number of dances and processions were held in the streets to celebrate the occasion.
